Ryan Blake, M.A. Social Psychology, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, is a compassionate, collaborative therapist who believes that meaningful change begins with feeling genuinely heard, understood, and accepted. He provides individual and couples counseling to adults navigating a wide range of concerns, with particular experience supporting emerging adults and clients from diverse cultural and identity backgrounds.
Ryan provides individual and couples counseling. His experience includes working with culturally diverse and LGBTQIA+ clients, including individuals navigating minority stress, acculturation stress, identity development, and other challenges shaped by culture and lived experience. He is committed to providing care that is culturally responsive, identity-affirming, and tailored to each client’s unique needs.
His clinical training includes comprehensive biopsychosocial and diagnostic assessment, as well as practical experience with evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based interventions, attachment-informed approaches, and trauma-informed care. He also has a growing clinical interest in the relationship between psychological experiences and physical symptoms, including somatization.
Ryan earned a master’s degree in counseling from Taylor University, where they provided individual and couples counseling through the Student Development Department. His broader mental health experience includes working as a Care Coordinator with Aspire Indiana Health, where they taught life skills and supported the independent living goals of adults living with moderate to severe mental illness.
He also served as a Graduate Assistant at Ball State University, contributing to quantitative and qualitative research focused on improving outcomes for culturally diverse learners. This experience deepened their appreciation for the ways culture, environment, identity, and individual experiences influence well-being.
At the heart of Ryan’s approach is a belief that therapy is a collaborative process. He strives to create a warm, nonjudgmental environment where clients can better understand themselves, work through difficult experiences, and develop practical tools for moving forward.
Ryan is licensure-eligible and is committed to continued growth as a clinician while providing thoughtful, ethical, evidence-based, and compassionate care.
